Jesus and Superman

Adam Duckworth: Interesting thought that I had last night...

This is quite an interesting lil read by a dude from America about the similarities between Jesus and Superman. The analogy is far from perfect, but he does make a couple of good points, as does one of the dudes in the comments.

Anywho, check it out.

Actually the connections are a lot deeper and more deliberate than that, though I do appreciate Adam's comments.

Hollywood Jesus did a write up of this some years ago:

"Before the tragic end of the planet [Krypton], baby Kal-El, is sent to earth to escape the approaching doom. Kal-El is part of a family of three (trinity): Jor-El (played by Marlon Brando, the God Father himself), the mother (Virgin Mary/Holy Spirit), and baby Kal-El (Jesus). It is interesting to note that the Hebrew word for God is EL and both Superman and his father have EL in their names. In the comic books "Kal-El" is Kryptonian for "Star Child" -which ties into the Child of the Christmas Star."

That's just a teaser. See
