State Youth Games Success!

Well, i'm back after my long posting absence, due predominantly to the aforementioned State Youth Games down in Warragul.

This year we went down as two footy clubs, the Tyabb and South Mornington Yigers. Much success was indeed had on the sporting field, we ended up taking out the Rec Footy, Ultimate Frisbee, 3on3 Basketball and Dodgeball. But more importantly, we all had fun, there was great community amongst our new and regular guys, and it wasn't even too cold down there! Well, not for Warragul anyway!

I didn't think much of the speaker, which is another issue for another post, but the best evangelism is the community anyway, so I can get over bad speakers-they're totally not the main focus for me. We also ate with Frankston CoC, which made ur life just so much easier-one of the advantages of having a bit of an affiliation with them.

And in the end, we took out the Small Church Award and the Russel Croxford Award-for most points per person, so that was a great way to cap off an awesome weekend.

Good times all round!

What else goes on at the games, obviously there's games...and a speaker...

Yeah hopefully I'll get onto that post soon Kat.

Um yeah I dunno, there's like 35 different sports you can play over two sessions each day, then at night they have the main rally, with music, dramas and of course a speaker. After that they have like a few bands playing, a cafe, dance party, movie tent, Sacred Space worshipy tent, jumping castle and all that kinda craziness.

Its awesome!

Yeah maybe Jarrod... Although i don't think you've realised I'd have to get up early for this job... Might actually give them a call tho. Although I don't want to give them credit for spamming me!

Hey Digger, I'm also interested in your opinion on the speaker. I was only down for the Satruday and I wasn't very impressed with what he said on Saturday night. Glad you had a good weekend and congrats on taking the small church and Russell Croxford awards.
